I am a Professional Health and Well-being Coach and medically retired Family Medicine Physician. I knew at a young age that I would choose a profession that helped people live healthier lives. I received my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine and my Health & Well-being Coach certification from Wellcoaches® School of Coaching.
As someone with a history of being overweight as a young adult and current diagnoses of Multiple Sclerosis, Osteoporosis, and Polymyalgia Rheumatica, I have had to make many lifestyle changes in my own life in order to live a healthier, happier, more fulfilling life.
My own experiences with health issues in addition to my skills and education make coaching a natural extension of my career as a physician. My strength as a coach lies in my pragmatic approach which is balanced by empathy, compassion, and a gracious spirit.
I started Meraki Way Wellness to help clients discover their motivation to adopt and maintain healthy habits in a nonjudgemental, supportive environment. My clients include individuals with health challenges (i.e. obesity, extreme stress, sedentary lifestyle, increased risk for cardiovascular disease, and chronic illness) and those who want to stay healthy and prevent future illness.
In addition to being a physician and coach, I am a wife and a mom to a preteen son and teenage daughter. Travel with my family, reading, guided meditation, gentle yoga, and walks with my pooch are some of my favorite activities.
